The Truth About Intuitive Eating- Your Body Isn’t Broken

Woman in black dress with silver jewelry, holding a white fur coat. She's smiling, with a softly lit, neutral background.

Here’s something I’ve been reflecting on lately:

Somewhere along the way, health and wellness got romanticized.

We went from diet culture — where restriction was praised and recommended — to a new wave of messaging that says…

“Just listen to your body.”
“Eat intuitively and everything will fall into place.”
“If it doesn’t feel good, it’s not aligned.”

And while I’m all for self-trust and feeling good in your body…

I’ve also learned that:

A plan that only works when life is easy... isn’t a plan at all.

There was a time when if I ate “off plan,” I’d spiral into guilt.

If I didn’t feel motivated to work out, I’d beat myself up.

If my body didn’t look a certain way, I thought something was wrong with me.

But what I’ve realized — after years of working with women on healing their relationship with food and body — is this:

Your body isn’t broken.

It’s just confused.

Mistrusted.

Unheard for way too long.

And healing doesn’t come from constantly starting over — it comes from practicing repetition with compassion.

Let me show you what that shift actually looks like…

Repetition Over Reinvention

Here’s what I see happen all the time:

✨ Someone tries a new way of eating for two weeks, doesn’t see results, and thinks they failed.

✨ They journal one night and expect lifelong peace with food the next morning.

✨ They meditate, drink the smoothie, do the yoga — but when they still feel bloated or triggered, they scrap it all.

But your health isn’t something to be fixed in a rush.

You don’t need to keep reinventing your approach.

You need to stay with yourself.

Because repetition is how your body learns safety. It’s how trust is built. It’s how you create real freedom with food — not another cycle of “on track” and “off track.”

Discernment Over Distraction

In wellness spaces, it’s easy to get distracted by “good vibes only.”

You’re told to manifest healing, raise your vibration, try the next trending protocol.

But here’s what most people aren’t talking about:

Discernment.

The ability to actually tune into your body — not just emotionally, but physiologically.

Are you tired… or undernourished? Are you bloated… or chronically stressed? Is your hunger real… or reactive?

Healing doesn’t come from guessing — it comes from getting curious, not critical.

Your clarity is in your patterns.

Your symptoms.

Your lived experience.

Not another 10-step hack on TikTok.

Reality Over Romance

This may not be what you want to hear — but health doesn’t always feel magical.

The most powerful shift I ever made?

I stopped waiting to feel “ready” and started showing up from respect for my body, not perfection.

I don’t eat well because I’m inspired every day.I nourish myself because it builds the life I want.

I don’t move my body to burn calories.I move because it’s my way of saying, “I’m on your side.”

If you’re waiting to feel confident before you take care of yourself… you might be waiting a long time.

You want a peaceful relationship with food? You want to feel good in your skin?

Build it with consistency — not just vibes.

You’ve got this.
